What is SQL?
Structured query language (SQL) is a programming language typically used for storing and processing information in a relational database. You can use SQL statements to store, update, remove, search, and retrieve information from the database. You can also use SQL to maintain and optimize database performance.
Babelway and SQL
Babelway allows you to retrieve or insert data into Oracle, PostgreSQL, or any other database on request.
Getting started with Babelway
1. Fill in server address and credentials
2. Fill in database, table name
3. You're ready to go!
To retrieve data from a database, the following parameters will be defined:
- Host: The host of the database you wish to connect to
- Username and password
- Database system: Oracle or PostgreSQL (others available upon request)
- Database Name:
- SSL for an optional secured connection to the database.
- Table Name: Table containing the data to retrieve
- Column name(s) can be added if data needs to be retrieved from a limited set of columns (blank = all)
After data is retrieved, the row can be either deleted or updated.
To insert data from a Database, the following parameters will be defined:
- Host: The host of the database you wish to connect to
- User and password
- Database system: Oracle or PostgreSQL (Others on request)
- Database Name
- SSL for an optional secured connection to the database.
