It is an early standard for EDI, designed for domestic trade and primarily used in the UK retail sector. The Tradacoms standard encompasses 25 messages and each message is set out in a hierarchical structure. Unlike EDIFACT, Tradacoms does not use a single message format, but instead uses multiple messages which constitute a transmission.
Nowadays, people tend to use more EDI than Tradacoms but in the UK, it is still a common standard. It is pretty straightforward, even more when you are used to the 25 messages of the Tradacoms files.
Babelway makes understanding Tradacom files much easier. Since they are based off a standard, Babelway can help identify the meaning of each field. This makes mapping your file to another format type much easier and doesn’t require previous knowledge of Tradacoms to complete.
Create your incoming or outgoing Tradacoms structure from a sample file
Use simple drag&drop to map your Tradacom messages to any other format for easy import/export in/from your database
Connect your Babelway environment using any EDI or non-EDI communication protocols
Babelway is not only a great self-service platform but also a team of pros ready to help you succeed.
