Walmart Communications Protocol with Suppliers

As much as we’d like to, we will never be able to take all the work off your hands. All interactions with Walmart (be it for support or testing purposes) will have to go through your company. Naturally, you can count on our specialists to provide you with all you need to know to make your project a success.

As a result, the very first step in integrating with Walmart will be to contact their EDI team to receive supplier ID and connection information. This is available through their Retail Link application. If you don’t have access to the application yet, you should contact vendoraccess@wal-mart.com.

third parties

Using Third Parties to Integrate with Walmart

Though Walmart is vendor neutral regarding integration platforms and sofware for EDI, the company lists the following requirements of conditions for working with third parties:

  • The third party must be Walmart-approved.
  • The third party must perform some form of transformation for you (converting protocols, converting message formats, etc.).  Basically, the integrator has to serve a business need of some kind.

Troubleshooting Integration Issues

A seamlessly automated process is a charm until you run into your first complication. Some integrators don’t provide the detailed information you need to understand what’s going wrong.

With Babelway, you will have not only support but complete access with the ability to monitor all of your exchanges, which include detailed logs at your disposal. You will quickly realize how critical this is when integrating with Walmart. All issues are to be troubleshooted by the supplier before being investigated by their support teams.
