What is AS2?
AS2 is a connection protocol to send and receive documents over the internet securely. It involves server communication, digital signing, and data encryption. AS2 software provides each party with unique URL, ID, and encryption certificate that they can share with their partners. In turn, each partner will give their own AS2 details. Both parties configure these credentials and certificates to establish a secure connection.
There are many encryption and signing settings for AS2. It’s important to pay attention to your partners connection details in order to configure the AS2 correctly. Examples of this are whether or not the message is encrypted, compressed, signed, if the sending AS2 service requests an acknowledgement, etc. There are also many types of encryption that would be given by your partner.
