What is AS2?
AS2 is a connection protocol to send and receive documents over the Internet securely. It involves server communication, digital signing, and data encryption. AS2 software provides each party with a unique URL, ID, and encryption certificate that can be shared with partners. In turn, each partner will give its own AS2 details. Both parties configure these credentials and certificates to establish a secure connection.
AS2 has many encryption and signing settings. Pay attention to your partner’s connection details to correctly configure a connection. For example, is the message is encrypted, compressed, or signed, and will the sending AS2 service request an acknowledgement? A variety of encryption types could also be given by your partner.
