SOLUTION > MESSAGE FORMAT

Babelway supports the transformation from and to any message format, including:

  • UN/EDIFACT (United Nations/Electronic Data Interchange For Administration, Commerce and Transport ) : is the international EDI standard developed under the United Nations. EDIFACT has been adopted by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) as the ISO standard ISO 9735.
Babelway support all versions of EDIFACT (from 91A to 08A see the full list)
  • ASC X12 (also known as ANSI ASC X12) : is the official designation of the U.S. national standards body for the development and maintenance of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) standards.
  • XML (Extensible Markup Language) is a set of rules for encoding documents electronically. XML messages can be defined in Babelway, using an XML message sample or using the XML schema document (XSD).
  • MS Excel : Microsoft Excel files can be the source or target format of a B2B exchange. Babelway supports Microsoft version from ’97 to ’03.
  • CSV (comma-separated values) is used for the digital storage of data structured in a table of lists form, where each associated item (member) in a group is in association with others also separated by the commas of its set. Each line in the CSV file corresponds to a row in the table. Within a line, fields are separated by commas, each field belonging to one table column. Since it is a common and simple file format, CSV files are often used for moving tabular data between two different computer programs, for example between a database program and a spreadsheet program.
  • Multi record Flat files : plain text files which contain one record per line. Within such a record, the single fields can be separated by delimiters, e.g. commas, or have a fixed length. Babelway supports multi-record flat files where at least one field has a static value which is used to identify the record.
  • HTML (HyperText Markup Language) files is the predominant markup language for web pages. It provides a means to create structured documents by denoting structural semantics for text such as headings, paragraphs, lists etc as well as for links, quotes, and other items. It allows images and objects to be embedded and can be used to create interactive forms. Babelway enables to build outgoing messages dynamically from structured data and to send them out in PDF (Portable Document Format) based on a XHTML template.
  • PDF files (Portable Document Format) is a file format created by Adobe Systems for document exchange. Formerly a proprietary format, PDF was officially released as an open standard on July 1, 2008, and published by the International Organization for Standardization as ISO/IEC 32000-1:2008. Babelway enables to publish outgoing document in PDF format. It is possible to include an electronic signature to the PDF. It is also possible to attach other files formats such as EDI, XML or flat files to a PDF message. This is particularly useful in the sending of electronic invoices in both a human-friendly format (PDF) and machine-friendly format (structure file).
  • ZIP : the ZIP file format is a data compression and archive format. A ZIP file contains one or more files that have been compressed to reduce file size, or stored as-is. Babelway supports zipping of ourgoing and unzipping of incoming messages. The ZIP file format enables the inclusion of electronic signatures.
