FTP (File Transfer Protocol) is a standard network protocol used to exchange and manipulate files over a TCP/IP based network, such as the Internet. FTP is built on a client-server architecture and utilizes separate control and data connections between the client and server applications.

Babelway supports FTP connections for incoming and outgoing messages. The FTP connection can be client (Babelway connects to a distant FTP server) or server (the messages are stored on a FTP server within Babelway and the external system reads or writes on the Babelway server). FTP connection can be secured with SSL (Secure Sockets Layer): FTPs
