SOLUTION > CONNECTIVITY > AS2 PROTOCOL

AS2 (Applicability Statement 2) is a specification about how to transport data securely and reliably over the Internet. Security is achieved by using digital certificates and encryption. It is widely used in the distribution sector and EDI exchanges in general. Messages go through the Internet using HTTP (used for the Web) and S/MIME (a cryptographic standard for signing messages). In order to provide security, digital certificates are required on both ends of the communication. As a sender or receiver, Babelway includes certificates that can be used for the communication with your partner.

In order to provide security, digital certificates are required on both end of the communication. As a sender or receiver, Babelway includes free certificates that can be used for the communication with your partner.

Advantages of AS2

  • Signature : you can be sure that your partner was the sender and not someone else
  • The message is crypted : only the receiver can read the content of a message
  • Based on internet protocols, AS2 does not have extra charged compared to private VAN systems such as X.400
