PHI DATA and Babelway

The Company: PHI DATA is a solution integrator optimizing company processes through design, programming, integration & maintenance of Auto-ID and datacollection solutions. The results are cost reductions and time savings for customers.

The Business Challenge: PHI DATA and Babelway wanted to fulfil the request of multiple suppliers of Fresh products to Delhaize. These suppliers were strongly invited by Delhaize to change their delivery process. This change included the capacity to capture electronic delivery information, to format it in EDIFACT and to send it to Delhaize at the time of shipment of an order. Key business requirements for suppliers included an extreme simplicity and the most economic solution possible.

The Solution: PHI DATA developed a desktop application coupled with its identification hardware. Babelway developed an OEM like interface that linked the PHI DATA application to Delhaize's environment, including the data formatting within Delhaize's required standards. PHI DATA installators could install and release the end-to-end solution for customers without the intervention of multiple technical teams.

Key Benefits: end-users had one installation process of an all-in application at a very affordable prices. PHI DATA and Babelway installed many instances of this combined solution. Delhaize achieved its deployment objectives, also due to our creativity in the process.
