In January 2008, eBay asked Babelway to build an automatic channel between the eBay website and a key customer's internal application. eBay required exchanges to be based on its SOAP interfaces in conformance with strict security guidelines. The customer had already developed an exchange process using batch FTP upload of XML files with other business partners. Using Babelway, each partner could stick to their own technical requirements and preferences, minimising adaptations to their respective environment.
