Chembo Bevil and Babelway
The Company: The group Chembo – Bevil based in Tournai, Belgium, produces and markets industrial biological and chemical cleaning products and detergents. Around 80% of the turnover is exported. Customers are located across Europe and include large distribution chains, DIY distributors and individual wholesalers.
The Business Challenge: The group Chembo –Bevil wanted to expand usage of EDI. They already received electronic orders from some of the larger customers. They wanted to exchange automatic delivery notes and electronic invoices with Hubo, Brico, Castorama, Leroy Merlin and Intermarché.
The Solution: The group Chembo – Bevil selected Babelway as their partner for this project. A key element in the decision was the approach proposed by Babelway to implement the initial channels and to progressively enable Chembo – Bevil to operate in full autonomy to activate additional flows, using the Self-Service model of Babelway. The BabelAcademy training that Mr Baudour followed as part of the implementation project was an eye-opener into additional features and functionalities of Babelway opening the way for usage that Chembo-Bevil didn’t anticipate initially.
Key Benefits: The solution was implemented very smoothly and proved to cost even less than initially anticipated! Furthermore, Chembo-Bevil now controls its own tool that it can deploy very flexibly with large customers but also smaller customers, and to reach very high levels of automation within the company.
Jean BAUDOUR, IT Director, Group Chembo-Bevil: "I took a long time before deciding to switch away from our historic EDI provider. I can say today that it probably was one of my best decisions.".
