Carrefour Belgium and Babelway

The Company: Carrefour is a leading retail distributor in Belgium, the subsidiary of Carrefour group, n2 retailing group in the world.

The Business Challenge: Carrefour was looking for a partner who could on-board multiple suppliers on the e-invoicing project. The key success factor was to convince suppliers with limited technical capabilities and limited exchange volume.

The Solution: Carrefour selected Babelway as partner for this operation. We designed specific Babel Academy sessions during which we gathered prepared technical representatives of each supplier as well as technical representatives of Carrefour. During one-day training sessions, each supplier managed to design the flow to produce an EDIFACT compliant electronic invoice directly extracted from their ERP or accounting software (no double capture).

Key Benefits: We could on-board around 30 suppliers of Carrefour with a very efficient coordination process and minimum disruption for both Carrefour and suppliers. Thanks to this approach, we implemented very complex data transformation that would otherwise have taken months to implement.
